Flash Expander "how to"

This is the first thing I do, before all else, if I am not going to be using Multiboot.

What will it do? It will "expand" your rec's "flash" by using/making a USB stick a part of it!

How exactly? Well, it moves the heavily used but otherwise limited /usr folder to a USB memory stick and thereby we get to play properly, with a hefty EPG load, lots and lots of picons, subtitles, plugins, skins and cams galore - and never run out of space, plus still have our box to perform speedily and stably...

FileZilla Client -> enigma2-flashexpander-azboxhd_0.13-r1_mipsel.ipk package goes to your rec's /tmp folder (or /root).

Blue button -> PB Center -> PB System Setup -> IPK Installer -> OK -> yes. When done, press the EXIT button to return to PB Centre -> Restart GUI. Or whatever is used in your image for this task or in Main E2 Menu -> to Software Management, but sometimes we need to place it in /root -> Install ipk -> restart GUI etc.

When PB-E2 VX is running again, plug your USB stick (the faster the better) into your box!

Then, go to Menu -> Plugins -> Flash Expander -> create press OK -> choose where/which USB stick and partition, if you have more...

At that point it starts working (= moving /usr folder to USB stick), telling you to wait...

If it is successful, at some point it will ask you if you'd like to "Restart your box"? Press OK and wait...

After a little time E2 restarts and God's your uncle... Remember, all that you install will now go to /media/FlashExpander folder and other folders on USB stick that you will determine later on, so you don't have to worry about E2 getting too big, slowing it all down, running out of memory etc.

Formattare la pennetta dal Dream spento inserirla sul Dream e accendere il Dream
Finito l'avvio scegliere di configurare la pennetta e formattarla, una volta finito salvare senza configurarla, insomma deve essere /hdd
Riavviate.
plugin flashexpander_0.33-r0_all e scaricalo
Mettilo in tmp
Vai su installa manualmente e installa il plugin
Riavvia
Tasto menu e scegliere il plugin, dentro trovi il plugin flashexpander settalo e col tasto O. K. scegli di installarlo e setta la pennetta

Se si toglie la pennetta e la si rimette, bisogna rifare la procedura di installazione tramite flashexpander e si perdono così, skin e plugin installati nel frattempo

ho evitato tanto cè google ti basta ricopiarlo ma se vuoi la riscrivo passo passo
e comunque è un pò vecchia quasi 5 anni fà c era anche l allegato

il fatto e' che facendo la procedura quando vado a formattare la pennetta mi dice che mi manca uno strumento (fsk4) o qualcosa del genere (scusa la mia ignoranza) e non m,i fa andare avanti,stessa cosa se vorrei formattare hard disk,questo mi succede con qualsiasi versione di *********mentre se monto un immagine tipo openatv se vado a formattare la pennetta me lo fa tranquillamente,allora ti domanderai perché nn lasci la open? perché non trovo in rete un immagine openatv 5.1 pulita con wizard,le trovo tutte backup.......mi potresti aiutare anche in pm se vuoi perché giro e rigiro mi trovo sempre nel tunnel.......grazie cmq e scusami per il mio msg non l'avevo con te,ma ho seguito tante di quelle guide che i nervi mi sono arrivati a fior di pelle ciao

non ce bisogno di formattare la pennetta con la image puoi formattare il pennino con il PC fat32 poi la metti nel deco fai un reboot da storage device montala automaticame media/HDD e poi la fai iniziare poi monta flashexpander fa tutto da solo
